Maxwell Systems Partners With Associated Builders and Contractors

Maxwell Systems Inc., a provider of construction management software solutions, has signed a partnership agreement with Associated Builders and Contractors, a national trade association representing 22,000 members from more than 19,000 construction and industry-related firms. 

Under the partnership agreement, ABC members will have access to Maxwell's team of technology and implementation best-practice staff. Maxwell will deliver a knowledge base, technology stewardship, and methods to bring a greater understanding of software utilization and process improvement for effective business leadership. 

For example, in addition to white papers, Maxwell will offer several educational webinars using its Best Practices Guide series. The inaugural webinar, hosted in the fall, will be based on the Best Practices Guide, "Optimizing Your Construction Business for Profitable Growth."

H.B. Fuller Construction Products Opens R&D Center

H.B. Fuller Construction Products has opened a research and development center in Aurora, Ill. The facility features new equipment and updated and expanded lab space that further enhances the capabilities of the company’s research and development efforts.

The new center, formerly based in Palatine, Ill., was relocated to H.B. Fuller Construction Products headquarters in Aurora to allow for improved collaboration with various departments of the company.

“The new facility will allow the research and development team to work more closely with sales, marketing, operations and other departments,” says Greg Schad, technical director for H.B. Fuller Construction Products. “Working in tandem with these departments, the R&D team will better understand our customer’s needs, allowing us to better serve them.”

Designed to meet the needs for formulating advanced technology materials, including water-based, reactive and cement chemistries, the center is equipped with state-of-the-art climate controls to meet the constant temperature and humidity requirements for industry specifications, such as ANSI A118 and ISO 13007.

In addition, H.B. Fuller Construction Products has invested in new and upgraded testing equipment to perform the most demanding test methods for the construction industry. The facility also features expanded lab floor space, allowing H.B. Fuller Construction Products to add new R&D resources for their growing market presence.

Dexter + Chaney Form Construction Ops Group

Dexter + Chaney has created a new business unit focused on innovative technology solutions for construction operations. The Dexter + Chaney Operations Group will deliver new construction software platforms and applications to those involved in construction operations across all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through live construction.

“Construction collaboration has been an industry buzzword for a number of years,” says John Chaney, president and co-founder. “We created the Dexter + Chaney Operations Group with one objective in mind: Use technology to help make collaboration a reality, not just a buzzword.

“We looked at the sheer number of different applications used by our customers from pre-bidding through to project completion, and we were shocked," Chaney continues. "We knew that there had to be a better way to deliver technology to construction firms trying to work together. That’s when we began forming the Operations Group.”

A culmination of more than two years of recruiting construction operations talent and researching new technology approaches, the Dexter + Chaney Operations Group will be hitting the ground running.

The Operations Group will announce its first product offerings in early-2012.
